I’ve always wanted to learn how to crochet, and I finally got to do so this summer thanks to my sweet friend, Stephanie, from Yarning The Day Away!  It’s been a little over a month since I’ve learned, and I am completely addicted!

I’ve already made two scarves, a baby blanket, this elf hat, and now I’m currently working on a throw for my couch.  If my fingers didn’t get sore after hours of crocheting, I’d do it all day everyday.  It’s so fun and calming.  I love it!

This elf hat was a special request from a close friend who is expecting her first child in two months.  I was showing her pictures of my completed projects so far, and she asked if I could make her an elf hat.  My reply, “I don’t think I’m that advanced yet, but I’m up for the challenge!”  And by that, I meant, I’ll go ask Stephanie.  Ha!   And that’s exactly what I did.  She immediately went online and found a free pattern on Raverly by Miki.

She even tested out the pattern and made one ahead of time before we met up.  Isn’t she awesome?  Once we got together, we were able to each create an elf hat in four hours.  Stephanie is great and was able to quickly answer any questions I had along the way.  Reading a pattern is NOT easy!  Luckily I had an expert to guide me through it, and the end product was awesome!  Infant Crochet Elf Hat TailInfant Crochet Elf Hat & Pom Pom Infant Crochet Elf Hat

I can’t wait to see it on my friend’s baby!  So cute!  Check out how I made the pom pom here: How To Make A Yarn Pom Pom.
