Comic-Con just wrapped up in San Diego, and since I wasn’t able to go, I decided to play dress up at home. What else would I be doing on a Sunday? Bloggers gonna blog!

I happened to already have a blue wig and all the makeup needed to create the comic book look, so I didn’t have to run out and buy anything. Everything was conveniently available. Well, I did pick up a Venti iced coffee, but that’s just a given. Once I got home, I blasted some 90’s hip hop, let the caffeine kick in and the cosplay begin!

To get this look, you will need: primer & base foundation, blue eyeshadow, black eyeliner, false eyelashes, red lipstick, blush, and a bright wig.

1) Apply primer, followed by foundation.

2)  Draw an outline of the desired eyebrow shape you want using black liner.  Then, fill it in.Comic Book Makeup Eyebrows

3)  Apply blush to your cheekbones.Comic Book Makeup Blush

4)  Apply blue eyeshadow.  Use a brush to blend and fade out to get that smokey look.

5)  Use black eyeliner to create a cat eye on your upper eyelid.  Line the bottom of your eyes and smudge it with a brush.   Add a little blue to the the corner of your eyes as well.

6)  Glue your false lashes on.  Use tweezers to put them in place and pinch your real lashes together with the false ones.

7)  Apply red lipstick, and line your lips with black liner.  Put a dab of gloss on the bottom corner of your lip.Comic Book Makeup Lipstick

8)  Take black liner and draw a high crease on your eye.  I didn’t really think this through, but I probably should’ve just finished working on my eyes before applying lipstick.  I was an eager beaver.Comic Book Makeup Eyelashes

9)  Use black liner to trace the line of your nose, the bottom of your cheek bones, and your jaw line.Comic Book Makeup Cheeks

10)  Pull your hair back into a bun.  It’s almost wig time!Comic Book Makeup Hair

11)  Put on your wig.  BOOM!  You’re done.  The wig really ties it all together.  You can wear any bright colored wig you want; it doesn’t necessarily have to be blue.  I love it.  Not too bad for an amateur!Comic Book Makeup

I had so much fun doing this.  I think I have a Halloween costume!  Next time, I’ll add dots to my face.  My caffeine hands were a little too shaky this time around.  I didn’t want to risk it.  Here are a few of my favorites.

I love how it looks on my phone/camera roll!

Yes, I took a bunch of pictures like a dork.  It was so fun!  Every girl should play dress up every once in a while!  🙂
