Milk and Eggs is a grocery delivery company servicing the Los Angeles and Orange County area.  Their goal is to connect good people with the best foods from the best farmers, all while using an environmentally friendly aggregation and delivery system.  And get this, delivery is FREE!  How awesome is that?  We had the opportunity to try Milk and Eggs for the first time last week, and we absolutely love it!  Their customer service is exceptional.

We placed our order on Sunday evening and received our delivery around 5am Tuesday morning.  Seeing that yellow bag in front of our door made us so happy; it’s such a cute bag!  We got bagels, cream cheese, smoked salmon and dill to make bagels and lox.  Bitter melon, eggs and green onions to make a bitter melon scramble.  Fresh linguine, pesto, jumbo shrimp and a baguette to make pesto shrimp pasta.  CA protein bread and organic cheddar to make pesto turkey sandwiches (we already had turkey in the fridge) and smashed avocado toast.  Plus, one pound of King Crab Legs to steam and enjoy with garlic lemon butter.

Everything Bagels, Blue Hill Bay Smoked Salmon Wild Alaskan Coho, Philidelphia Whipped Cream Cheese, and Herb Dill.  We already had onions and capers in our pantry, but we liked it better without the capers, as they were a little on the salty side.  These Everything Bagels were so good and were generously loaded with spices.  We enjoyed scooping everything that fell to the bottom of the bag and sprinkling it into the cream cheese.  The salmon was perfectly smoked too, and the dill was fresh and fragrant, making this the perfect bagel and lox combo.

Bitter Melon, Golden Fresh Cage Free Eggs, and Green Onion Bundles.  Bitter melon is definitely an acquired taste.  We hated it as kids (because they really are bitter), but we’ve grown to love it as adults, and we love that Milk and Eggs carries it!  Their price is comparable to our local Asian market too, but this conveniently saves us a trip.  Woohoo!  Learn how to make this here: Bitter Melon Scramble.  If you’re feeling adventurous in the kitchen, you can also try our Bitter Melon Soup recipe.

Domenico’s Fresh Pasta Linguine, Domenico’s Toasted Walnut Basil Pesto Sauce, and Jumbo Shrimp.  We loved how the pasta was fresh and came inside a microwavable safe container, so naturally, we hoarded it!  It was perfect for storing our leftovers!  The pesto sauce was delicious, and the shrimp was perfectly plump and scrumptious.  Learn how-to make this here: Pesto Shrimp Linguine.   Here’s the container we hoarded for leftovers.  Yay!

Alvarado California Style Complete Protein Bread, Horizon Organic Sliced Cheddar Cheese, and Domenico’s Toasted Walnut Basil Pesto Sauce.  This bread reminds us of our favorite bread from Whole Foods that got discontinued (Seeduction).  It is loaded with millet seeds, which pop real nicely in your mouth.  We love it!  We already had turkey and tomatoes in our fridge, so we used the leftover pesto and made pesto turkey sandwiches.  So good!

Alvarado California Style Complete Protein Bread with smashed avocado.  Milk and Eggs carries avocados, but we didn’t order any this time around since we already had some,.  Now that we’re out, it’ll be on our next Milk and Eggs shopping list for sure!

Jumbo Alaskan King Crab Legs with garlic lemon butter.  This was amazing!  There was so much crab meat in each leg!  We enjoyed every bite, and we’ll for sure be ordering these babies again.  They come pre-cooked and frozen, so you can just let them thaw in the fridge and eat them cold, or steam them like we did.  Learn how to make it here: Steamed King Crab Legs with Garlic Lemon Butter.

This grocery haul totaled about $100 and lasted us well over a week.  It provided us with at least a dozen meals (counting leftovers), and we still have bread, cheese, pesto, and a bagel left to enjoy.  When we received our order, they were short half a pound of King Crab Legs.  We received a note on the bag apologizing for it and a sincere email as well.  They issued a refund for the crab legs and still delivered the order the very next day.  Now that is amazing customer service!  We’ll definitely be ordering from Milk and Eggs again.  It’s fresh, convenient, and we love knowing that we’re supporting our local farmers!  Thank you, Milk and Eggs!  We give you DUO thumbs up for sure!

We’ve teamed up with Milk and Eggs to offer you a discount.  If you’re in the LA or OC area, you should definitely give Milk and Eggs a try.  You’ll love it!  Use promocode: HOWTODUO to receive $20 off your order of $40 or more, and let us know what you think!
